Volume, the show’s title, reflects the many definitions of the word: a book, amount of space an object occupies and a measure of the intensity of sound. To date, Volume has been performed in diverse spaces and is customized to reflect each unique venue. During this event, Ron Hutt will be live mixing sound files, edited videos, text and animation. The resulting installation is a compositional and imaginative flow between the artist and the exhibition space resulting in an unpredictable and dynamic mix of sonic and visual sensations. For audience members, the Volume project aims to stimulate new sets of meaningful and unexpected associations. This ongoing project reflects the many definitions of the word volume: a book, amount of space an object occupies and a measure of the intensity of sound.
